Biden endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, who quickly received the backing of many powerful Democrats. If elected, Harris would become the first woman to serve as U.S. president. She made history in 2020 when she became the first Black person, first person of South Asian descent and first woman to be elected vice president.
